Hosting Engineer

The Network Operations Centremanages and maintains LinkUpHost's Datacenter network 24x7. As a highly intelligent and efficient break/fix organisation, with a strong focus on consistency and process, it works with other parts of LinkUpHost to deliver a world-class customer experience.

Job Responsibilties:
Part of one of the four existing shift structures that is responsible for monitoring and repairing the LinkUpHost's Datacenter network network and services.
Monitoring – Pro - active event management.
Acknowledging alerts & ticketing the event.
Communicating to customer base.
All the above to meet LinkUpHost's event management KPI’s.
Initial technical diagnosis of issue and first time fix where possible.
Process ownership for escalations and internal incident updates.
Ability to engage and escalate to 2nd and 3rd line groups whilst retaining ownership of the incident.
Coordinate activities with local field operations and to diagnose and fix faults across the network.
Ability to support and implement some pre approved change requests.
Monitor & verify changes implementations are performed as agreed.
Reporting security incidents to the appropriate operations functions on detection.
Comply to LinkUpHost security management controls, security policies and report security incidents to line manager.
Physical security monitoring.

Experience required:
- Minimum two years of work within and Operations environment of a telco, large ISP or hosting provider.
- Minimum one years of work in a technical support position.
- Minimum one year experience of working a 24x7 shift pattern.
- Minimum one year experience with trouble ticketing tools.
- Minimum one year experience with monitoring tools.
- Knowledge of basic fault finding techniques
- Knowledge of Juniper commands and OS.
- Acquainted with telecommunications operational processes and procedures.
- Knowledge of Windows, Linux and UNIX.
